ADJUDICATOR:  ANTOINETTE CANN

As well as performing duo-piano concerts and masterclasses in Europe, USA, Japan and Australasia and recordings with Claire Cann which have won Classic FM and Gramophone Critic’s Choice, Antoinette has spent many years as a trumpeter. She began cornet lessons age five and as a fifteen-year-old she was congratulated by Harry Mortimer for performing both as principal cornet and soprano cornet in a brass band championship to help her band win first prize.  She was the first woman to win a place as a first - study trumpeter at The Royal College of Music and has premiered trumpet works by Terry Winter Owens in New York and by Michael Elliott in Newport. Antoinette was commissioned to compose “Anthony and Cleopatra” for choir and brass ensemble for Bledington Festival. She has a singing spaniel, Igor who also loves brass.
